Taygetos Mountain Challenge 2017
The 8th Annual Taygetos Mountain Challenge took place over the weekend of 22 and 23 March this year.
Independent were once again ably represented by Chara Roumanou and Rodney Cook who ran in the 20km “Experience” event which took them up a 1120m rise through stunning scenery as can be seen in the accompanying photos.
Chara finished in 35th place in the womens’ section in a time of 3.25.46secs while Rodney finished in a very creditable 31st place out of a field of 142 men in a time of 2.16.39secs.
Paul and Anne Cook enjoyed themselves as back-up team to Chara and Rodney who have already expressed their intention to attend the event next year!
